About me

Hello! My name is Lucas Sort, I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the Mathematical Genomics Research Unit, led by Dr. Leo Speidel, at the RIKEN Center for Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences (iTHEMS) located in Japan. Prior to this, I completed my Ph.D. in Statistics and Machine Learning at the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes (L2S), CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay (my thesis) under the supervision of Pr. Arthur Tenenhaus and Dr. Laurent Le Brusquet.

My research focuses on developping new statistical and machine learning approaches to tackle problems in Biology. More precisely, I am currently working on developping new methods to identify and understand evolutionary processes such as natural selection.

In this context, I have been exploring more particularly Linear Mixed Models (LMMs) recently, and, during my thesis, various dimension reductions approaches such as Regularized Generalized Canonical Correlation Anlaysis (RGCCA) for multiset multivariate data and CANDECOMP/PARAFAC (CP) decomposition for tensor data.
